I use JavaScript in LiveCycle for calculations. In fact, one needs to convert date strings into the number of days to perform a lot of date manipulation including changing the formats. JavaScript uses the milliseconds from the epoch date for both dates and times and LiveCycle uses the days from the Epoch date for dates and milliseconds for time.
